Aug. 2 – Old-fashioned ice cream social in Red Boiling Springs

At the Armour’s Hotel, this annual event benefits the Red Boiling Springs Heritage Museum. A two-day family festival with live entertainment, food and beverages, sports competitions, children’s play zone, vendors and access to the Gilley swimming pool. Aug. 9 – Wine train excursions to DelMonaco Winery in Baxter

Aug. 26 – 6th annual Fall Gardeners' Festival in Crossville

Visit the Plateau AgResearch and Education Center for a day just for the gardener. Enjoy educational exhibits, garden vendors' booths and other opportunities, including ask-the-expert, free soil analysis, walking garden tours and wagon tours of the entire facility. Aug. 30 – 14th annual Camper’s Night Light Contest at Standing Stone State Park

Decorate your campsite with a creative selection of lights. First place prize for most original display is one week of free camping at Standing Stone State Park. Aug. 30 – Habitat Mud Run 2014

Presented by Putnam County Habitat for Humanity at Cane Creek Park. This is a 5K mud run with various obstacles and plenty of opportunities to get dirty. This year's race will include areas of Cane Creek Park never before seen by runners. All proceeds benefit Putnam County Habitat for Humanity.
