MCMINNVILLE – Jarden Consumer Solutions’ employee-funded charitable giving entity, The JCS Community Fund, donated $30,000 to three local charities in the second quarter of 2014. Since its creation, the JCS Community Fund has awarded more than $5 million in donations.

The JCS Community fund approved grants for the following agencies:

Kids of the Community is an organization coordinated by Warren County Juvenile Court in cooperation with members of the community who are committed to making a difference in Warren County. The organization received $15,000 to help the agency provide activities and support for its sustainable gardening program, used to feed children year-round. Funds will also support activities associated with the Christmas program.

Mountain T.O.P. Inc. is an interdenominational, non-profit organization that seeks to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of people in the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee. The organization received $10,000 to support its direct line assembly program, specifically purchasing materials to build wheelchair ramps, porches, porch roofs and sheds for needy families in the McMinnville area who cannot afford materials or labor to repair their homes.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is a member of Feeding America, working as one of the largest food banks and food distribution centers in the nation to provide food for hungry people and work to solve hunger issues in Middle Tennessee. The organization received $5,000 to support mobile food pantries in Warren County, specifically purchasing non-perishable food items and to help offset transportation costs.

“Giving back and participating in community development takes precedence for our employees,” said Rocki Rockingham, VP of community relations and communications. “With their charitable support, the JCS Community Fund is able to make a greater impact on the community and in the lives of those who need it most.”
