COOKEVILLE – Tennessee Code Academy has partnered with online education provider Treehouse to offer continued learning opportunities for students. Every student who attends a TN Code Academy camp or workshop will have discounted access to the service.

"We need to recognize ways we can transform the education system and curriculum to ensure students have the degrees and skill-sets that companies will most need in the near future," Ryan Carson, Treehouse CEO and co-founder, said. "This is the new opportunity initiative."

Treehouse is an online interactive education platform that offers courses in web, mobile and business development. Its courses on web development and programming are aimed at beginners looking to start a new career, while its courses in business education and marketing teach students how to start and market a business in the technology industry.

“This is a great partnership for Tennessee Code Academy, as we will be able to provide additional learning opportunities for our students," Sammy Lowdermilk, program director of Tennessee Code Academy, said. "This also allows us to keep up with students’ progress once they leave our camps and workshops.”

TN Code Academy, a program of The Biz Foundry in Cookeville, and 100 Girls of Code host educational events across Tennessee on an ongoing basis. Students interested in attending a computer programming course can visit
