All available retail and commercial financial services will be offered when the bank opens. In the long term, WB&T executives are searching for property on which to build a permanent branch, which is expected to open in late 2015 or early 2016.
“We’re excited about bringing our brand of community banking to Putnam County,” WB&T CEO Randall Clemons said. “We’ve worked hard to be able to open for business in early 2015.”
WB&T received regulatory approvals to operate a Putnam County office in November, and the bank recently hired longtime local banker Cheryl Sandlin as Putnam County president. Business development officer Kelly Perdue has been providing loans and other services for commercial clients in the Cookeville area for the past four years.
Wilson Bank & Trust is the ninth-largest bank in Tennessee and currently operates 25 offices in Wilson, DeKalb, Smith, Trousdale, Sumner, Davidson and Rutherford counties. The bank has assets of $1.8 billion and was recently awarded the highest five-star rating by financial ratings firm BauerFinancial.
